PaiN management

I treat many types of orthopedic pain including: neck pain, shoulder, back pain, migraine or tension headaches, carpal tunnel, knee pain, plantar fasciitis, and many others. Acute injuries and sports injuries are best treated as soon as possible after injury. Chronic pain may need a course of treatments over a few months and then need maintenance treatments as needed.

stress, anxiety and depression

Acupuncture is a wonderful tool to decrease the symptoms of stress, anxiety and depression. You will see relief from insomnia, impaired concentration, panic attacks, palpitations, muscle tension, headaches, and digestive disturbances. By balancing the parasympathetic and sympathetic nervous systems we see relief. Acupuncture can be used alone or in addition to medications and counseling depending on the severity of your symptoms.

Sports Acupuncture

As a runner myself, I have a particular interest in helping people recover from sports injuries and overtraining. We can target specific injuries, release tight muscles, improve recovery from a hard workout, and more. I use any combination of cupping, gua sha scraping, dry needling and acupuncture based on what you need. My goal is to keep you as active as possible while treating your pain.

CUPPING, Dry Needling, Gua Sha

Cupping and gua sha are myofascial treatments that are primarily used to treat tight muscles and myofascial adhesions that may be contributing to pain. I use dry needling in two ways: to release tight muscles and to recruit or activate inactive muscles that are causing muscular imbalances and pain.  I offer these as part of a standard acupuncture appointment if it is indicated or you may schedule a 30 minute "cupping only" appointment if you need targeted work without needles.
